Delhi Hurricanes Rugby Football Club is an Indian rugby union club based in New DelhiIndia. It was was formed in July, 2004 and is affiliated with North India RFU, which is part of the Indian RFU.

The team plays in Red and Blue or in Black for all games. They currently participate in the All India & South Asia Rugby Tournament.

Delhi Hurricanes has given more than 35 players to Indian National Team. It aims to provide more and more players who could represent Indian Team in near future.

 History of Delhi Hurricanes Rugby Football Club:

Delhi Hurricanes Rugby Football Club was formed in July, 2004 and is affiliated with North India RFU, which is part of the Indian RFU.

Delhi Hurricanes have given 55 players to the Indian National Team by now & hopefully at current pace, we will provide more & more players who could represent Indian Team in near future.

After winning Division II Trophy, at the Callaghan Cup in 2009, the Delhi Hurricanes have been improving rapidly, they reached the 5th place in the All India 2010, in year (2011), they lost against the winners of the competition in the semi-finals, They came 2nd in 2014, 3rd in 2015, 2nd again in 2016, Women’s team were runner up in the inaugural All India & South Asia Rugby 15s tournament too played in Kolkata.  In 2017, they made a history and became 1st club in India’s history who won All India and South Asia Rugby Tournament in both Men’s and Women’s category in the same year. Delhi Hurricanes Rugby Football Club is unbeaten in the All India and South Asia Rugby Tournament since the year 2017 and won the tournament 4 times.  Delhi Hurricanes have also won 2 back to back National 15s Rugby Tournament in 2023 & 2024.

On 31 July 2011, Delhi Hurricanes Rugby Football Club inaugurated the first full-time dedicated rugby field in the country and the 1st Rugby Academy in India which started on the  1st September 2011.

Delhi Hurricanes became ranked 1 in India in Rugby Sevens after winning the All India 7s that they host in the end of October 2011. They won again in Srinagar, J&K after beating Jungle Crows in the finals.

Delhi Hurricanes RFC players represents different States in the National Rugby tournaments and National Games and Haryana Team Comprised of mostly Hurricanes Players were unbeaten since the year 2014 before they lost the finals of  the National 7s tournament recently in Assam.

Seven Delhi Hurricanes players including Prince Khatri, Neeraj Khatri, Deepak Punia, Mohit Khatri, Ajay Deswal, Javed Hussain and Mohit Tushir bought by different franchise for the inaugural Rugby Premier League started on 15th June, 2025 where Indian players playing along with International Rugby Stars from the 16 different countries. Mohit Khatri is the most expensive player of this RPL.  Beside this Mr. Arun Dagar is the Assistant Coach, Bhupendra Bokan, Manager and Hitesh Dagar is the Strength & Conditioning Coach of Delhi Redz franchise and Mr. Tilak is the Assistant Coach of the Hyederabad Heroes Franchise.

Deepak Punia is the current National 15s Rugby Captain while Mohit Khatri is the 7s team Captain, Ms. Shikha Yadav is the current National team’s captain.  Mr. Vikas Khatri who was previously Indian Team captain is now Indian team Assistant Coach while Mr. Tilak and Arun Dagar are the Indian Junior Teams Coaches. Beside this Prince Khatri has also let the National team for some time while Ms. Namita Bhoj and Priya Baisla were the National Women’s team Vice Captains.

Delhi Hurricanes has given three International Rugby Referees also. Their names are Namita, Priya and Babli.
